So you know I'm obessed with all things summer - especially anchors - everything from tees, pajama pants, keychains - pretty much anything they can be applied too. So the shackle/maritime jewelry trend is a no brainer for me. The shackle trend actually has an interesting origin. People of the sea place a special significance on a shackle because they have trusted their boat & their lives to the simple device.

When I saw this David Yurman sterling silver maritime shackle ring in a Bloomingdales fall fashion mailer I knew I had to have it!!!! Of course even in King of Prussia - which mind you has the said Bloomingdales but also a stand alone David Yurman boutique - I was too late! There were none left - not only did I have to have one shipped to me but a second had to come in the mail because the first was too big. Just an fyi - because of the shape of this ring you can probably size down one size - at least in my experience. But no worries - I eventually had it & am obsessed.

I especially love wearing it with my MIansai screw cuff bracelet in noir. I had gotten this for my birthday from one of my favorite men's boutiques Galvanic in Cape May, New Jersey - which you know are hard to come by - we don't have the same opportunities to binge shop as the women in our lives.
